Over the past three years, I have collaborated with Melanie Davenport on a series of animation workshops at a school called CRES (Centro Rural de Educación Superior) in Estipac, Jalisco, Mexico. The students there are primarily indigenous, representing nine different language groups from all over Mexico. We have delivered instruction and technology to enable them to tell their own stories in their own languages through the medium of stop-motion animation. We have also taught college-level students there about animation pedagogy so that they can utilize this exciting medium in their future careers as teachers. Durante los últimos tres años, he colaborado con Melanie Davenport en una serie de talleres de animación en una escuela llamada CRES (Centro Rural de Educación Superior) en Estipac, Jalisco, Mexico. Ahí, los estudiantes son principalmente indígenas, representando nueve diferentes grupos lingüísticos de todo México. Hemos impartido capacitación tecnológica para permitirles contar sus propias historias en sus lenguas, por medio
de la técnica de animación llamada “stop-motion”. También hemos enseñado a usar la animación como método de enseñanza a los estudiantes de nivel superior, como medio para sus futuras carreras como maestros.
